According to two new studies, a significant majority of Americans, including registered voters, want the federal government to reduce the country’s carbon emissions.

The CNN/SSRS poll found that, “the broad majority of US adults – 73% – say the federal government should develop its climate policies with the goal of cutting the country’s planet-warming pollution in half by the end of the decade.” The Yale/George Mason poll of registered voters found that, “56% of registered voters think global warming should be a high or very high priority for the president and Congress” and that, “64% of registered voters think developing sources of clean energy should be a high or very high priority for the president and Congress.” Leveraging American tax dollars to reduce the country’s carbon emissions is exactly how Vanessa Chan spends every day.
