James is perhaps best known for his extraordinary international social healing and dialogue work, as well as for his popular book Cultivating Peace: Becoming a 21st Century Peace Ambassador. He is Lead Faculty for the Peace Ambassador Training, a virtual course that has certified over 800 peacebuilders from 30 countries. The latest training is currently just commencing as of April 15th, 2014. James also served as Director of the Amnesty International Washington D.C. Office for a decade, and co-founded the International Social Healing project with Dr. Judith Thompson.
