Lee Temple has built a distinguished career as an architect, activist, writer, and consultant, and is now recognized worldwide as a thought leader in sustainability and education. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University and began his career as a general partner of the Temple Gebelein Partnership in 1981 before becoming the principal of his own firm in 1985. In 1993, he founded the Sustainable Resource Center in Crestone, Colorado, and since 2004, has directed Shining Golden Suns, LLC, through which he has published the award-winning Global Awakening Series of books, articles, and supplementary materials. In addition to excellence in sustainability and design, Mr. Temple is an accomplished songwriter and the founder of Big Rig Records and Temple Mountain Music. He has served as visiting professor at Cornell University and taught architecture and urban design at leading institutions including Syracuse University and Hobart and William Smith Colleges. He is a sustainability member of the Shift Network, and his green polemic, Awakening into Unity has received the 2017 Book Excellence Award. His built designs won the American Institute of Architects’ Design Excellence and Residential Design Awards.
