The Chilean government has suspended the COP25 climate talks. So we demand a People’s Climate Summit instead – and at this Summit, we want the United Nations to prioritize the voices of people, not polluters. It’s time to kick polluters out of the climate talks and give them back to the people.
The UN and UNFCCC should begin an open dialogue with civil society about how to meet these demands and provide support for any alternative spaces that are established to further public participation in the global climate process.
